We'll be gaining a deeper understanding of the impact that both Neurodevelopment and Attribution Theory have upon the unconscious implicit reactions we have concerning race. About the Presenter: Dr. Brenda Wright Dr. Wright Associate Professor at Wilmington University retired from her fulltime position at WilmU in 2019 after a 30-year career. She has been a respected and valued member of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Dr. Wright was a full time faculty in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s program since January 2012 until retirement. She continues to teach in the program and still develops workshops like this one today for the College. Other positions at Wilmington University included Practicum & Internship Coordinator, Diversity Advocate, Oversight of Program Assistants and Adjunct Faculty in the MCC program and Clinical Coordinator for the Master’s in School Counseling Program where she coordinated all aspects of school counseling students’ clinical experience in area schools, from 2008-2012. Dr. Wright served on the Board of Directors of Urban Promise Ministries from 2000-2004. There she served as the school task force member for the Urban Promise School in Wilmington and as their Consultant/Missionary Trainer. She was Training & Development Director at Joshua Counseling Center where she developed workshops for community churches and the counseling staff Dr. Wright started her career at Catholic Charities working there twelve years as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor providing therapy for clients with a multitude of counseling-related issues. Dr. Wright has professional credentials with the Delaware Professional Counselors Association, American Counselors Association, National Certified Counselors, and with the International Association of Trauma Professionals.
