This dialogue is facilitated by CTE staff (Dr. Adrienne
Bey, Dr. Josh Simpson, and Dr. Terri Trent), Dr. Jason James, Jr. (Assistant
Professor, College of Business), and Karen Ann Sheats (Senior Director, WilmU’s
HR Department).
Description: The ability to communicate effectively and respectfully about an uncomfortable feeling, negative experience, or controversial/different perspective is a crucial skill. Environments where students feel safe, seen, heard, understood, and respected foster transformative learning experiences for student success in the classroom and beyond. In this facilitated panel discussion, tips for engaging students in courageous conversations are explored.
