Dorsey is currently employed as the Senior Threat Assessment Specialist within the Office of Threat Assessment (OTA) at The University of Alabama (UA). Prior to his current OTA assignment, Dorsey spent six years establishing and then directing UA’s OTA.
For over 29 years, Dorsey was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), including 13+ years within the National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime/Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). While assigned to the BAU, Dorsey was routinely tasked with providing Criminal Profiling expertise to a variety of investigations including kidnappings, serial homicides, serial sexual assaults, etc.
During his BAU tenure, Dorsey was operationally deployed over 200 times to ongoing missing child investigations throughout the United States as well as numerous foreign countries. Dorsey was a major contributor to the FBI’s initial, as well as follow-up editions, of the Child Abduction Response Plan which was provided to law enforcement agencies throughout the United States in an effort to assist in missing child matters.
