Views in the Canvas Gradebook
You can use the View feature in a Canvas gradebook to rearrange and filter columns. Filtering columns has the ability to temporarily hide gradebook columns that do not have a specific criteria.
Why filter columns?
For example, you could filter your gradebook to only display assignments that are associated with a specific module. Then once you’re ready to view all of the columns again, regardless of what module they are associated with, you can easily remove the filter to revert the gradebook back to its original state to display all columns.
How to enable filters on a range of data:
4. Click the “All Modules” dropdown menu to reveal the various modules
5. Click on the name of the module you want to filter by. Now only assignments that are associated with that module will appear on the screen. They are not deleted, just temporarily hidden from one’s view.
Why use the arrange by feature?
You can arrange any column in the Gradebook according to your preference. You can use a preset arrangement by assignment name, due date, points, or module, or you can manually arrange columns. You can also manually increase and decrease the width of any column. The option to arrange columns affects all the columns in the Gradebook.
How to use the arrange by feature:
1. Click the View menu.
2. Click the Arrange By link. The default order is the order set in the Assignments page.
3. Select an option from the menu to arrange gradebook columns. A popular options is to arrange by assignment name
