The Educational Technology and Center for Teaching Excellence have collaborated on resources designed to help faculty keep momentum in their classes when weather cancels class sessions. Our Cyber-Day workshops and resources are designed to help faculty quickly and effectively convert planned face-to-face instructional techniques into appropriate online learning activities when facing class cancellation due to inclement weather.
By viewing this archive faculty can expect to pick up tips on:
• Determining which class content would be appropriate for online activities, and which content should be saved for face-to-face interaction
• Providing extensions of learning opportunities presented in class and new entry points for class content in the absence of face-to-face interaction
• Utilizing innovative technologies to convert what would have taken place in class into engaging, interactive learning opportunities online
• Communicating with students to ensure class stays on track
